This is the method of choice when the partner’s sperm quality is part of the problem. Many couples have more than one problem causing them to be unable to conceive. A single sperm can be made to fertilize the egg. The resulting embryo is placed in the mother’s uterus. Sperm is injected into an egg using a microscope and micromanipulators. So called male factor infertility is very successfully treated by ICSI.
